Döviz Artışı ile İlgili Duyuru

Değerli Öğrencilerimiz,

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) is a foundation university established in 2001 by the Education Development Foundation (SEDEF) in accordance with the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a foundation university founded by Turkish entrepreneurs and Bosnian scientists upon the call of the first President of the independent state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the late Alija Izetbegović, to humanity for the reconstruction of the country after the war between 1992-1995, it does not receive financial support from the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina or the Republic of Turkey, and continues its education, training and research activities with the serious support of the founding foundation every year. Its sole purpose is to provide a peaceful and comfortable education environment for its students coming from a wide geography with its identity as an international education and research institution.

We have been closely following the economic speculations and increases in the exchange rate that have been deliberately tried to be created about Turkey, especially in recent days. The effects of this economic coup attempt affect not only Turkish students studying in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also the approximately 100 thousand Turkish students who are receiving their education abroad with their own means.

The ongoing investments of our Founding Foundation, the education, training, research, personnel and all expenses of our university are made in the Bosnian currency BAM (KM) and EURO. For this reason, it is not possible to fix the EURO - TL exchange rate for our students coming from Turkey.

Our University's Founding Foundation and Board of Trustees have provided convenience and opportunities in the collection plans used for students and families' tuition fee payments since the global economic crisis and the depreciation of the TL against foreign exchange that has been ongoing since 2008.

By converting tuition fees into Turkish Lira with the first payment, it has been ensured that many banks can pay the credit cards without any interest difference (the interest difference is covered by our foundation). Interest-free education loan agreements have been made with banks, enabling students who wish to benefit. 90% of our students make their payments this way and are not affected by the exchange rate increase during the year.

The deductions required according to the IUS scholarship regulation have not been made, and the continuation of student scholarships has been ensured by lowering the academic success criterion.

The differences in the annual inflation rate have not been reflected in the tuition fees. (Approximately 90% of universities reflect the annual inflation rate in their tuition fees).

Our university has allocated more than half of its quotas to scholarship students since its establishment. The rate of scholarship students at our university is 75%, while the general scholarship rate is 45%, and tuition fees and scholarship rates vary by country. Our students from 55 different countries are granted scholarships according to the education systems in their countries, secondary education and internationally recognized undergraduate entrance exams. (Scholarships are given to students coming from Turkey according to the scholarship quota and YGS-LYS scores in the ÖSYS guide.)

As always, our Founding Foundation and University are doing what is necessary within the framework of their responsibility and mission and will continue to do so.

The primary goal of the Founding Foundation and University is to ensure that our students receive education in a good environment and are successful.

With love…
