INTERNATIONAL UNIİVERSITY OF SARAJEVO (IUS)
Today, the Primary School of SEDEF Foundation “Isa-beg Ishaković”, which in Bosnia and Herzegovina operates under the directive of Turkish President Recep T. Erdoğan, started its activities within the campus that previously belonged to the Gülen Movement (FETÖ). The members of Gülen Movement, who came to Sarajevo after war, in 1997, used the campus facilities for their schools during the past 20 years.
Students abandoning Gülenist Terror Organisation (FETO) educational institutions after 15th July Coup attempt are being given alternative options. Turkey has been taking action to help FETO’s victims in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Foundation for Education Development Sarajevo has its reliable educational institutions operating outside Turkey. The foundation, whose goal is to offer education at all stages, from kindergarten to doctoral programs, has been preparing the opening of its high school.

Uluslararası Saraybosna Üniversitesi (IUS), Eğitim Geliştirme Vakfı (SEDEF) tarafından 2001 yılında Bosna Hersek yasalarına göre kurulmuş bir vakıf üniversitedir. 1992-1995 yıllarında yaşanan savaş sonrasında bağımsız Bosna Hersek devletinin ilk Cumhurbaşkanı rahmetli Aliya İzetbegoviç’in ülkenin yeniden inşası için insanlığa yaptığı çağrı ile Türk girişimciler ve Boşnak bilim adamları tarafından kurulan bir vakıf üniversitesi olarak, Bosna Hersek devletinden ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nden maddi destek almadığı gibi, her yıl kurucu vakfın ciddi bir desteği ile eğitim, öğretim ve araştırma faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir. Tek gayesi uluslararası eğitim ve araştırma kurumu kimliğiyle, geniş bir coğrafyadan gelen öğrencilerine huzurlu ve rahat bir eğitim ortamı sağlamaktır.

On December 22, 2016, as a result of signing ceremony between Sarajevo Education Development Foundation and Sarajevo Student Center, the SEDEF Foundation rented 3 buildings on 6 acres of land in Sarajevo.

Ilidža Municipality Council adopted the Decision for sale of the unsettled land for construction of a religious building at the location, Hrasnička cesta 15. Based on the decision, an agreement was signed between the Foundation for Education Development (SEDEF), a founder of the International University of Sarajevo, and the Ilidža Municipality on direct purchase of land in order to build a mosque near the university. The agreement was signed at the premises of the Ilidža Municipality on September 18, 2015.
Sarajevo Education Development Foundation (SEDEF) 2015 Annual Congress was held in the Senate Chamber of International University of Sarajevo (IUS), on Thursday, May 21, 2015. Members of Board of Trustees of SEDEF Foundation attended the Congress.
